Monday we kicked off the week with a play date at Loose Park. My friend, Nancy, came over with her sweet little lady, Ruby. Louis was SO excited for them to get here. He picked up her name right away & shouted it until she arrived. He showed off his toys while I ran around packing my stuff for the park. Are you surprised I wasn't ready?
We watched the ducks & geese for a while. They swam right up hoping for food which we did not have.
We smelled the roses but Louis was only interested in the fountain and Ruby was set on running her own way.
We finally made it to the play area & nap time was near so the swings seemed to work the best.
Nancy had her Ergobaby carrier so I wore mine too as a way to practice for the trip. I didn't get a picture of us but I'm sure we looked like hot moms.
Tuesday I had a sewing class (an old gift from the husband) so Louis went to work with Joe. He was excited to see his old friends and had fun. Then Molly and I made some owl pops like the ones from my Little Hoots post. They will be featured at Party On Designs if they make it there intact. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Check out the bag I made.
Tuesday night and yesterday morning I worked on the garden some more. Joe helped Tuesday night but his size 14 feet stepped on some of my beans that were coming up. I'm sure you can imagine how thrilled I was and then how thrilled he was at my temper tantrum.
I promise to post about the garden soon. Maybe tomorrow if I feel like breaking from the trip prep. Louis helped mulching by throwing handfuls at the garden and screaming "MULCH!" and then holding worms up and screaming "BIRDS!" after I told him birds eat worms.
Here is pic of the salads we have been eating. All of the greens have been harvested from our garden and are delicious! And yes, Louis eats them too.
Yesterday was also my birthday. Joe took me to dinner at Coal Vines on the Plaza and then to Hunger Games. I know, you can't believe I am just seeing HG but I don't get out much. In fact, I don't think I've been to a movie in over a year. It was fun to be together and alone on a date!
I better sign off before Louis gets up from his nap. We finally got the water table so I might get that set-up or he will hopefully stay interested in this train I got out today. Unlike our trip to Italy, I have not learned ANY German so I'll practice with goodbye. Auf Wiedersehen. Good thing I know how to say it from The Sound of Music song.
I love Joe holding your purse!
