The Trip According to Louis

The trip for Louis has been good, I think.  Beer gardens are equipped with playgrounds but even so, all he needs is gravel & rocks to play with on the ground.  His favorite part of Rothenburg was the trash truck and there are fountains & animals in every city to make him happy.

I’m not sure about his diet.  I usually stick to a mostly vegan diet ensuring he gets his calcium & protein from greens, seeds & nuts.  I’ve thrown all of that out on the trip just to make sure he eats.
The first new treat he had was juice.  Wow.  Big mistake.  He chugged the whole cup like a college freshman with beer!  He learned that word immediately as he learned the word “cake” immediately on Joe’s birthday.  So in Salzburg when he heard the first mention of cake that’s about all he said & screamed until the afternoon when we actually got the cake.  I think the only reason Joe and I got him his own piece is because we don’t want to share.  And Louis had no problem eating his whole piece.
He also made himself right at home at Anna’s house.  Over the last few months he has been going #1 in the potty at home & just before we left did #2.  I have not been officially potty training him & didn’t plan on encouraging it on the trip.  But right away at Anna’s he wanted to go #2 in the potty.  Not only that, he insisted on showing Nana and Barbara.  Yes, Barbara!  She was a good sport & thought it was hilarious that he was so proud of his deed.  So Louis proceeded to do each #2 in their potty even holding it in the car on the way back from Salzburg.  I hope this continues when we get back home!  Update: Today after I wrote this in the car, he had us pull over at a rest stop to do # 2 again.  What a big boy!
This was from Barbara & I thought he was supposed to eat it but it really was meant to be a keepsake.

He has also been good & quiet on the tours & has slept about 10 hours each night without waking up.  I think all of this will go on my list of reasons we should move here that I will present to Joe after the trip.  What do you think Joe will say?  After all, it is his homeland!
